Package Travel Regulation compliance is a legal requirement in accordance with The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations of 1992.
We are a tour operator, not a travel agent, which means we are a principal and a package holiday organiser and we are required to comply with EU and UK regulations that are in place to protect you the consumer.
The EU Package Travel Directive was incorporated into UK law in 1992 and it defines the responsibilities of tourism operators in relation to 'package holidays' which they sell or promote. It was updated with draft proposals in 2015 for implementation in 2018.
Sara International Travel sells its holidays as packages, which means we sell a combination of at least two different components in the same holiday. Currently this will include two of the following;
a) a carriage of passengers - e.g flights and transport services like minibuses, trains, 4x4s
b) accommodation - e.g hotels, lodges, tents, etc.
c) car rental
d) any other tourist service which forms a significant proportion or essential feature of the package - e.g car hire, sight seeing, tours.
As a member of PTS, you can have confidence knowing that you have 100% financial protection - offering full peace of mind at all times.
All the money we collect from you is paid directly into an independently controlled trust account. You are provided with a link to our PTS system which allows you to confirm we have your money in the trust account.
We are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority, our ATOL number is 11594, and we are also IATA accredited, our verification number is 582606912.
Our website and trip information packs give day by day itineraries and a complete and full description of all the aspects of accommodation, transport and activities for the whole trip.
Through PTS we take out Supplier Failure Insurance and Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance, which grants full protection against insolvency of any airline or supplier.
We regularly update our internal systems including contracts with suppliers and terms and conditions, plus our staff keep us informed of any changes on the ground which might impact your holiday, and we update our risk assessments. We also keep our records for a minimum of three years.
Our prices include all taxes and known fuel supplements before booking. We do retain the right however to apply a surcharge after booking for fuel surcharges, additional taxes and changes in exchange rates.
